This isn’t easy to write.
The very thought of putting you through this… cringes me. I’m facing a situation that demands urgent resolution, and after much thought and struggle to find a solution, I’ve decided to share it with you in hopes of a miracle.
Our house needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. It’s over 50 years old and in poor condition. After years of hard work and saving every penny, this home was all I could afford.
Despite its condition, owning a house fills me with a deep sense of pride. I never imagined I’d reach this point, especially with my modest income as a police constable. Saving for a home on a $270 monthly paycheck seemed impossible. But after years of perseverance, I made it happen. I finally have a place to call my own, and that’s something I hold dear to my heart.
Since moving in, I’ve known what lay ahead—a complete reconstruction. The walls are made of clay, the roof is barely holding up, and no matter how much we clean, dirt seeps through cracks in the floors. The six-foot boundary wall offers minimal security, and it’s a constant worry when I’m away at work. We’ve made do, but it’s clear we need a solid, secure home to feel truly safe. While the average price for a small house in our area ranges from $40,000 to $60,000, we were able to buy ours for just over $12,000, which felt like a blessing. My kids finally have their own space, and my wife and I are so grateful for this home.
However, every single rain brings us the stark reality of urgency and grave concern. Water rushes in through the walls, spilling clay all over our furniture and belongings, and pieces of the roof have even fallen in places. This only underscores how critical the situation has become. It’s a constant reminder that the house needs to be rebuilt as soon as possible to ensure the safety and well-being of my family.
The estimated cost for this rebuild is around $19,000.
This amount is simply beyond my reach. Even if I saved everything I could for the remainder of my service, the cost would only rise over time. Banks won’t consider lending to me because of my profession, leaving me with no way to afford this on my own.
That’s why I’m turning to you for help.
This is a sincere and heartfelt plea. If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean the world to my family and me. Every penny counts, and with your support, we’re one step closer to having a safe, stable home.
Maybe, just maybe, we’ll make it.
